Project 3: 3D Printed Design Objects: RENDER
3D Printed Project Models & Renders (Object Design or Chess Set)
Assignment: BLOG POST: Design Objects or 3D-Printed Chess Set: 3D Model
Assigned: Monday, March 18
Due: March 24, 11:59pm (Midnight!)
Assignment Description:
Finalize the 3D model of your object design, add materials, background, lighting and extract high quality renders of your objects. Document your process in a new post on your process blog. Use the advantages of rendering to create/envision the ideal scenario for these objects! See requirements below.
Assignment Requirements:
- Finalize your design and create a 3D-printable model(s). Consider designing self-supporting structures, or keep in mind how support material may be needed. I.e. Are post-processing supports needed or will you will incorporate the supports into your design?
- Assign materials to your 3D model in Rhino. Extract TWO HD renders of your final models for presentation.
One font or axonometric detail render of the model(s). For the folks working on a chess set, line up at least 6 different individual chess pieces in a front view line.
Model the design fitted to its imagined background or landscape. I.e. an entire chess set mocked up on a chess board.
Deliver onto the One Drive:
- Working Rhino files of object
- Renders in image format
- Document your design process and write about your design logics in a new blog post.
Be sure to include: - Design logic and 3D modeling process screenshots with written explanation
- Two HD renders included in blog post
- Enjoy the process!
